Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She founded The Huffington Post, is the chief executive officer and co-founder of Thrive Global as well an author of fifteen novels. Arianna Huffington works as an author, philanthropist, television host, and also the proprietor of The Huffington Post. Born in Greece then moved to England at age 16. In Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA in Economics. As the first foreign student to hold the position of president in the famous debate club The Cambridge Union, at age 21 she took over the position. Her success as a conservative journalist was further consolidated when she finished her degree. When the Huffington Post was launched The Huffington Post a few years later, she created an online voice portal that offered an honest assessment of the current state of the nation's politics. The fame of Arianna helped in attracting several famous contributors. Arianna became famous in 2003, when she ran as an independent candidate in the California recall elections in order to replace Governor Davis. The project she headed was the Detroit automobile project that was fuel efficient. She was named The Most Influential Women in Media according to Forbes in 2009 and was awarded the 12th spot on the list. In the same year Guardian named her on the 100 most influential media on their list. AOL Inc. made her the President of their media division in 2011 following the acquired The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post also included additional AOL brands such as Engadget AOLmusic Style list and Patch Media. She was the daughter of journalist and management consultant Konstantinos and his wife Elli Stasinopoulos. While she enjoyed a strong friendship with both of her parents but it was their connection which shaped her. She was a leader from the beginning. When she was 16 years old the girl moved to her home in United Kingdom for her higher education. In Girton College Cambridge. While in college she joined Cambridge Union, a college debate group. The third female president and the first foreigner she served as the head of the Cambridge Union. The year 1972 was the year her master's in Economics was awarded. Following her graduation, she was employed as a critic for a newspaper column and as a host on television. The appearance she made in Face the music with Bernard Levin was also notable.
